In the Age if AI Reflection
The video, In the Age of AI, was extremely thought provoking, entertaining, and frightening. The idea that in China, the usage of Artificial Intelligence is used within surveillance is a scary thing to think about. Not only do they know where you've been, what you've been doing, who've you been with, there's so much more to uncover from that.
Within the video here were the key bullet point statistcs:
- China is more experienced when it comes to AI - they have 10x more data than anyone
- China is the best place for A.I due to the vast amount of data and more users
I know people who don't live in China know about how stalkerish their government is.. but what about in the US?
We know about Facebook and Apple being able to access our personal data credit cards, address, interest, face id, fingerprint, yet does the US have anything more extreme?
My personal experience that I willingly had before the video, made me want to rethink my membership with clear. Clear allows you to use your eyes and face to use traditional ID documents. For example, I am from Atlanta, Georgia, and they TSA lines are absurd. One day, an agent pulled me over asked if I wanted to go through clear - the process of going through TSA would be quicker. The system took my face id, eye scan, and finger id. With that being said, without showing my id- I become my id. I thought that this was cool until I saw the video in class.
